Midvale, UT - 06.26.2000 - Phonex Corporation, the Utah-based world leader of
Power Line Carrier (PLC) voice and data communication devices, announced today that it has signed a distribution
agreement with ReplayTV, Inc. to resell the Phonex Corporation power line carrier technology which makes telco return
path connection possible from any electrical outlet. Under the terms of the agreement, ReplayTV will offer customers
of its ReplayTV 3020 and ReplayTV 3030 digital video recorders (DVR) the option to purchase Phonex Wireless Jack for
Modems as a simple method for providing the telephone connection required for the customizable programming features of
ReplayTV's DVR products.
Using patented technology, Phonex Corporation's Wireless Jack for Modems is a carrier current phone extension system
which turns any electrical outlet into a telephone jack, transmitting voice and data signals on 110-volt power lines.
The Wireless Jack for Modems can be plugged into any AC outlet, providing an instant telephone jack for telco return
path with "no new wires." The Wireless Jack for Modems eliminates the costly installation of hardwired telephone outlets
in inconvenient, if not impossible environments, and provides ReplayTV users with a convenient way to connect ReplayTV
DVR products to a telephone connection when a phone jack is not located near their television set.
